METHOD  Based on the results of 3D-PSSM (Kelley, MacCallum and Sternberg),

METHOD  were chosen as two templates.

METHOD  The functional role of 1elr as a mediator between molecular
METHOD  chaperones HSP70 (Heat Shock Protein) and HSP90 gave clues as to
METHOD  the possible functionality of ERp29 between BiP/GRP78 and GRP94,
METHOD  which are homologs to HSP70 and HSP90, respectively.

METHOD  Using the threading module within PrISM (Yang & Honig), the target
METHOD  sequence was aligned to the template, 1elr.
METHOD
METHOD  The homology models were built using Modeller4 (Sali et al).  The
METHOD  loops and side-chains were further refined using the loop prediction
METHOD  algorithm LPRD (Xiang & Honig).  Evaluation of all the constructed
METHOD  models were carried out using TROLL (Petrey & Honig) and Verify3D
METHOD  (Eisenberg et al).  Lastly, final decision was based on the GRASP
METHOD  (Nicholl & Honig) representation, the electrostatic surface map, of
METHOD  the models.
