METHOD SENSER was unable to identify a relationship between the
METHOD C-terminal domain of Spo0A and a sequence with known structure.
METHOD Therefore, we used the complete sequence of Spo0A and searched
METHOD against the nr using PSI-Blast. PSI-Blast was able to identify
METHOD a relationship between the full length sequence of Spo0A and
METHOD the members of the response regulator superfamily which included
METHOD such proteins as OmpR and PhoB.  The C-terminal domain of these
METHOD response regulator proteins consists of a winged-helix motif.
METHOD We aligned the C-terminal domain of Spo0A to this superfamily
METHOD using MACAW.
