METHOD TEMPLATE SELECTION AND ALIGNMENT                                     
METHOD PSI-Blast search (Altschul et al. 1997) gave significant
METHOD hit on coiled-coil structures. However, coiled-coil prediction
METHOD (Wolf et al. 1997) showed that only around 100 residues in the 
METHOD C-terminal have high probability to form a coiled-coil. We thus
METHOD assume that the target is a two domain protein. The C-terminal
METHOD domain is a coiled-coil. For N-terminal domain, we firstly searched
METHOD for inhibitors of the target. It was found that RGS4 can block 
METHOD activation of PLC-beta by competing for the effector-binding site
METHOD on the alpha subunit of G protein. Furthermore, biochemical studies
METHOD suggest that GAP activity of PLC-beta is similar to RGS. Therefore,
METHOD the known structure of RGS4 (PDB code 1agr) was chosen as the 
METHOD template for the N-terminal domain of the target. PrISM's sequence-
METHOD structure alignment was used to align the sequence of target to the 
METHOD template.

METHOD Models were built using Modeller4.0 (Sali & Blundell,1994)     
METHOD and loops and side chain were refined using colony energy (Xiang & Honig). 
METHOD The models were compared using TROLL (Petrey & Honig) 
METHOD energy function and the best scoring model is submitted.
