METHOD  
METHOD GENERAL: Ab initio folding using Monte Carlo simulations driven by restraints 
METHOD derived from multiple sequence alignments. Both secondary and tertiary 
METHOD restraints are derived from multiple sequence alignments. Secondary 
METHOD restraints obtained from a prediction of secondary structure. Tertiary 
METHOD restraints are obtained on the form of contact map prediction by a 
METHOD combination of multivariare statistical analysis and inverse folding. 
METHOD The predictions are incorporated as harmonic restraint penalty functions 
METHOD in a reduced protein model of two interacting particles per residue 
METHOD (one mimicking the backbone, the other one the side chain). Interaction 
METHOD between the particles is given by a statistical potential derived from 
METHOD the protein data base, suplemented by the restraint function. Conformational 
METHOD sampling is carried out on a discretized underlying lattice by a Monte Carlo 
METHOD simulated annealing procedure. 
METHOD DETAILED: Initial multiple sequence was obtained by database search using BLAST 
METHOD at NCBI. The final multiple alignment was done with CLUSTALW. Prediction of 
METHOD secondary structure using the method of Rychleswky & Godzik. Contact prediction 
METHOD using DRACULA. Folding simulations were performed with MONSSTER. All atom model 
METHOD PROSITE pattern. Folding simulations were performed with MONSSTER. All atom model 
METHOD created with MODELLER from the predicted CA trace.
