METHOD The structure was predicted using our hierarchical approach in 
METHOD which an extensive conformational search is carried out in a united- 
METHOD residue approximation (stage 1), followed by the conversion of 
METHOD the alpha-carbon trace of the low-energy structure to a full-atom 
METHOD chain (stage 2) and a limited conformational search of all-atom 
METHOD models (stage3) [1]. For stage 1, we implemented the 
METHOD conformational space annealing (CSA) method recently 
METHOD developed in our laboratory [2] and our knowledge-based united- 
METHOD residue potential for off-lattice simulations [3]. The numerical 
METHOD values of the parameters of the potential are available at

METHOD For stage 2, we used the dipole-path method [4] and, 
METHOD for stage 3, the electrostatically-driven Monte Carlo (EDMC) 
METHOD method [5] with the ECEPP/3 force field [6] including a solvation 
METHOD contribution in a solvent-accessible surface model [7].
